Medal of Honor: Warfighter
was pretty much universally panned in every facet of the game. Its
performance was so bad that the MOH series has been shelved until
further notice. Now EA's out saying what they did wrong, or rather,
placing the blame on someone. Rich Hilleman, Chief Creative Director at
EA, says it's not a genre oversaturation problem, but an execution
problem.
"We don't think it's a genre problem," he said. "It was an execution
problem. We don't think Medal of Honor's performance speaks to any
particular bias in that space against modern settings, World War II, or
any or that. It's much more that we had some things we should've done
better."
Blame is being placed firmly at the feet of the Danger Close studio, apparently.
"I think a key part of this is having the right amount of
high-quality production talent," Hilleman says. "And we didn't have the
quality of leadership we needed to make [Warfighter] great. We just have
to get the leadership aligned."
